FIELD TRIPS 2019
The following field trips have been scheduled:
6th Grade - May 23 - Akron Rubber Ducks Game
In order for your student to be eligible to attend their class field trip, they must pay any outstanding student fees in full prior to the day of the field trip. This includes workbook and tech fees, past due fundraiser, library, and lunch fees.
Food services direct mailed outstanding lunch fee notices to students. If you have any questions concerning outstanding lunch fees, please contact Director of Food Services, Mrs. Gale Luther ator x 1018.
All other student fee invoices will be sent home with students. If you have any questions concerning your student's outstanding fees, including arranging a payment plan, please contact the BIS offices via email .
If you have any questions relative to the individual field trips, please contact your student's teacher.
VIEWING AND PRINTING STUDENT REPORT CARDS ONLINE - AVAILABLE FRIDAY, MARCH 15 AFTER 3:00 PM
Beginning third quarter, BIS will no longer print student report cards. Parents will access student report cards online and print them directly from Progress Book. If a student owes any school fees, parents will be able to view the report card online, but the printing capability will be disabled.
Parents must have a Progress Book account in order to view and print student report cards. If you don't already have a Progress Book account, you must create one for your student. In order to create an account, parents must have a registration key for their student. A registration key can be requested using the link below.
If you need a hard copy of the report card, for proof of age for sports or for legal documentation, and you do not own a printer, please contact your student’s teacher or the BIS offices at to obtain a hard copy.
FIELD DAY 2019
There has been a slight change in the field day schedule this year to accommodate field trips. 5th and 6th Grade will be on Wednesday May 22nd and 3rd and 4th will be on Thursday, May 23rd.
We will start the day at 9:15 AM, compete throughout the morning until the regularly scheduled lunch and recess and then return to the field for final competitions and Tugs of War. Some things to remember:
If any day is canceled due to rain, the make up date will be Friday, May 24th.
There will also be the second annual 6th grade mile run. Qualifying 6th graders will compete in a mile run course after lunch and before Tug of War. Check with your student to verify if they chose to qualify.

IMPORTANT TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION - 2019-20 SCHOOL YEAR
If your student rides a bus to or from school and any of the following changes apply to your student, you will need to complete a new Transportation Request Form for the 2019 -2020 school year:
The 2019 - 2020 Transportation Request Form is available on the Buckeye website under transportation. A paper form can be provided upon request.
ALL TRANSPORTATION FORMS ARE DUE BACK TO TRANSPORTATION BY JULY 19, 2019 TO GUARANTEE TRANSPORTATION AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR.
Information regarding bus routes for the upcoming school year will not be available until the 2nd week of August. At that time, transportation information letters will be mailed to all registered bus students for the 2019 - 2020 school year.
Any changes requested after the letters go out will not be made until the 2nd week of the school year. Parents will be responsible for transportation until then.

BUCKEYE INTERMEDIATE RECEIVES "OVERALL A" AWARD
Buckeye Intermediate has been recognized as an “Overall A” Award winner based on its state report card scores. By demonstrating high academic performance and building bright futures for students of every background and ability level, they have achieved this impressive achievement!
Yesterday, the State Board of Education identified 28 districts and 310 schools that have earned an overall A grade on their report cards. We are proud of the Intermediate staff's accomplishments.
We are looking forward to receiving the official "Overall A" banner and proudly displaying it in their building. Great job Intermediate building!
FOURTH QUARTER STUDENT LEADERSHIP RECIPIENTS
Congratulations to our 4th Quarter Student Leadership Recipients. Preschool, 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade students who have shown exemplary leadership qualities inside the classroom, as well as, within our school, are recognized and celebrated with a quarterly Leadership Breakfast.
Parents of the recipients are invited to attend the Leadership Breakfast with their student. Our 4th Quarter Breakfast is May 21st. The breakfast will be hosted by Ms. Knapp and a featured guest student speaker. Congratulations to our BIS Student Leaders!
LATE ARRIVAL INFORMATION
School will start two hours later on late arrival dates. If your child rides a Buckeye School bus they will be picked up two hours later than their regular time. School drop off will be 10:20 am for Primary and Intermediate students. School dismissal times will not be affected.
Buckeye Elementary car riders will begin to unload at 10:20 am. The start of school for the Primary, Intermediate and Preschool is 10:35 am.
AM Preschool hours will be 10:35 am arrival and 12:20 pm dismissal. PM Preschool arrival will be 1:40 pm and 3:25 pm dismissal on Late Arrival Days.
All students (except AM Preschool) will be dismissed at the regular dismissal time. If you have any questions please contact your child’s building.

ONLINE STUDENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Your username is your student ID (this is the same number as your child’s lunch code, and it is available on report cards, in Progress Book, and in PayForIt) & your password is your student's birthday (MM/DD/YYYY) make sure to include 8 digits in the birthday and the two backslashes.
Because of the important nature of information contained in Registration Gateway, students of parents who have not completed verification will not have access to the following:
Students will not have access to the District Computer Network or Internet for class activities.
School fees for students Grade 4-6 is $50. Students must pay all past and current year's school fees. Students with unpaid school fees:
- will be unable to view student report cards online
- will be ineligible to participate in school-sponsored fundraisers
- will be ineligible to attend school field trips, including 6th Grade camp
Payment can be made with cash or a check made payable to Buckeye Intermediate School. Parents may also pay online using the online payment system, PayForIt.net.
If your child will be a car rider, please send a written note to the school. Please do not email the teacher or other staff members. If the regular staff member is absent, substitute staff do not have access to email.
If your student will be a regular car rider, please send a written note to the school and call the office at ext 4337 for the required yellow student placard to be placed on the dashboard of the vehicle picking up your student from the car rider line.
If you are notifiying the office to make your child a car rider for the day, please call the Intermediate offices before 2:00 PM.
Please remember to call the school absence line at ext 9204 to report when your child is absent from school due to an appointment or an illness. Please help us make sure your children are safe by calling the absence line.
Please do not call the Buckeye Intermediate office or use email to report a student absence. If the regular staff member is absent, substitute staff do not have access to email.
BUCKEYE LOCAL SCHOOLS TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT
Buckeye Local Schools utilizes the REMIND notification app to instantly alert parents, students, and staff with up to the minute bus changes using one way text messaging.
The REMIND notification system will not take the place of School Messenger. REMIND will be an additional communication tool and will communicate when our buses are running late for pick up and/or drop off.
